In this 6-hour workshop, we help you re-discover your «reason why», remember your identity as a company, and embrace the future with clarity and self-confidence. Now more than ever, customers are attracted to companies with a clear sense of purpose and a primary goal of adding value to their lives, instead of just cashing on their needs. Even companies founded out of a true sense of purpose, however, struggle sometimes to find a path forward amid financial pressure, the pressure to «make it», and an array of often contradictory business advice. In these moments, the entrepreneurial journey may feel like walking in the fog: We do not really know where we're going, and the people who are supposed to support us (our customers, investors, and employees) might never even find us.

Our promise is not to dissipate the fog but to hand you a compass with which you can navigate your way out of it and create the company you desire. Finding the investors, customers, and employees you need and creating strong revenue pillars for your business becomes intuitive when you learn to read your inner compass and act on your values and wisdom.

In this workshop, we clarify the following questions:
Which deep motivation led you to start this company and not another one?
Which of your inner passions and talents can you bring into full blossom through your startup?

«TELL YOUR STORY» (MODULE 2)

This module is for founders who either already have a deep understanding of their «reason why» or who have worked this out together with us as part of module 1. In an 8-hour workshop format, we take your shaped vision & mission as a starting point to develop your company storyline in the form of a pitch deck. A pitch deck isn't just a collection of slides containing information about your company; it is a powerful storytelling tool with which you can attract the right investors, customers & talents, while also repelling those who will only hold you back either because they don't understand your company adequately or because they don't share your values and passion.

Our goal in this workshop is twofold. On the one hand, we present your ideas, strengths, and inner beliefs in the clearest and most powerful way possible. On the other hand, we help you leave out unnecessary information that will dilute your message's power. For instance, not every pitch deck needs a detailed roadmap. This is the case when a startup is so young that detailed planning doesn't make sense. In this case, sharing your focus topics and explaining your pilot projects is much more important than presenting an unrealistic roadmap. In other cases, detailed financial planning and projection are tricky because you are still learning about customer needs & readiness-to-pay or finding your perfect product-market fit. And trust us in this: painting castles in the sky regarding your company's global market potential is at the very least naive if you haven't yet clarified & tested your business model and potential markets.

By understanding who you are and where you stand, we help you tell your story in an honest, authentic & grounded way, helping you attract customers, investors, talents, and strategic partners who share your values and can help you make your story a success.

Module 2 «TELL YOUR STORY» costs CHF/EUR 3'000.-, including workshop preparation, the support of one experienced mentor, and 4 hours of remote support for the final pitch deck polishing. If you need additional support, we can provide this at an hourly rate of CHF/EUR 200.

«PLAN SMART» (MODULE 3)

This third module is about sound planning, clever approaches, and the right focus to create favorable circumstances for sustainable success. Through individual mentoring sessions, we make an in-depth analysis of your situation & goals and bring in our experience building ventures to develop a grounded, tailor-made implementation plan. This plan is entirely individualized and based on your needs and situation, but may include any or all of the following: strategic roadmap spanning the next years; 12- and 18- month detailed roadmaps; clarification of business models and/or pricing; and financial planning.

This module's extent depends on both your current stage and the quality of the pre-existing planning documents. Therefore, we charge the effective hours worked according to our hourly rate of CHF/EUR 200 instead of a package price. In our experience, however, the costs for this module typically amount to somewhere between CHF/EUR 2'000-3'000.

Remark 1: For some in-depth analysis and more complex situations/ topics, we work together with partners in our network, mostly in legal, finance, tax, and HR. Additional efforts by third-party providers will have to be mandated and reimbursed separately according to our partners' terms.

Remark 2: We have experience fundraising (Seed to Series A) in the DACH region and helping customers sell their company shares / entire companies. We offer this service separately to selected startups from our portfolio and in a «performance-fee-only» model (No «retainer», no «up-front» payments, no «carry»).

«BUILD YOUR PRODUCT» (MODULE 4)

Once you have achieved the necessary clarity and created a concrete, smart plan which enables the most favourable circumstances for your development, it’s time to dive into the development of your product offering (digital, physical or service). We help you derive or shape an optimal product strategy from your overall strategy and define & plan the most important milestones for its development. Our long experience in conceptualizing prototypes, Minimal Loveable Products (MLP), and products will help you set priorities & build on the right building blocks.

This workshop is tailor-made to reflect your needs and fit your startup and/or product offering development stage. Our expertise covers, among others, prototype building, designing a MLP or the actual product, finding the right strategic partners, and establishing proper strategic management once you have established a product in the market. With this module, you will become masters of your product and gain awareness of what parameters need special attention in order to continue optimizing product-market-fit.

Module 4 «BUILD YOUR PRODUCT» costs CHF/EUR 3'000, including workshop preparation and a thorough, structured summary of the workshop, both supported and delivered by an experienced mentor. If you need additional support, we can provide this at an hourly rate of CHF/EUR 200.

This is a tailor-made mentoring offering for founders. By exploring both your personal and professional potential and bringing awareness to what is holding you back on your path to fulfillment and success, we help you become the creator of your own life story. We believe that true professional and personal success are very interlinked, as they are both born from our authenticity and our capacity to be vulnerable in the world. Therefore, our approach explores both work and life holistically.

In these sessions, we talk about intuition and impact, how our subconscious patterns and bad habits get in the way of our best intentions, and how our fears (and other basic emotions) can either sabotage us or be used to our advantage. Finally, depending on where you stand in your journey, we can help you develop a powerful life vision (including work) that can help you create the life you truly want to live.

This module isn't about creating a new version of yourself; it's about remembering who you are and embracing your authenticity and true power in the world. In doing so, you can stop running on the treadmill of achievement and expectations and start creating from a place of groundedness and inner peace.

These sessions usually occur in our offices in Wollerau, but can be done in nature upon request (availability dependent on weather conditions).

«GROW» is charged by the effective hours worked according to our hourly rate of CHF/EUR 200. We start with a face-to-face get-to-know-each-other talk, followed by a kick-off session. In this kick-off session, we determine the amount and depth of topics to explore and develop an approximate quote for our work together.

CASE STUDY 1: «Strategy Process and strategic (re)positioning of one of the most innovative regional banks in Switzerland»

Through this mandate, we helped an innovative & progressive Swiss regional bank position itself in an environment of evolving customer needs and changing circumstances driven by technologies like Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) or cryptocurrencies. The aim was to help them stay on top of these developments and evaluate brave new strategic positioning options. These options needed to reflect both the chances and risks of these new developments and reflect customer needs.

Based on trend analysis, we undertook preparational work and derived several positioning options. We then proceeded to discuss these options with the CEO and the chairman of the bank. Next, we planned and held a one-day workshop with the strategic committee/board of the bank, covering this analysis and the different strategic options. Our role during the workshop was two-fold: guiding the workshop and offering our expert know-how, views & experiences. The workshop's goal was to decide on a positioning, derive strategic implications, and transfer them to the management team, which would then be in the lead for the implementation of these new strategic guidelines.

The bank described in this case study is today a pioneer in the area of digital assets. The adapted strategic positioning and the resulting offerings & services in DLT and cryptocurrencies meant a significant contribution to revenues, net new money/ new customers, and profitability.

CASE STUDY 2: «Concept and implementation of impactful innovation management for a publicly listed Swiss bank»

In an environment of accelerated change, there's a need for structured innovation management capable of keeping up with emerging challenges and changing customer needs. Through this mandate, we developed tailor-made and impactful innovation management and guided its implementation phase.

Firstly, we evaluated the areas and topics where the bank could best position itself with innovative solutions and offerings. The positioning aimed to both reflect strengths & assets that the bank had successfully built over the years and take advantage of market opportunities that could fuel positive strategic development and brand positioning.

After closing the strategic groundwork, we guided the bank and its staff through the entire implementation process. This included recruiting new employee profiles, finding strategic partnerships in an "open innovation" approach, and developing best practices for the innovation process, structure, and governance. In parallel, we guided the cultural change process and helped integrate & motivate all employees on these new, future paths, thus creating favorable circumstances for powerful innovation.

Today, our customer is not only still very successful but is also capable of delivering targeted innovations in a "first mover" and especially in a "smart follower" role, which has had a significant impact on the company's (financial) results.

CASE STUDY 3: «Concept and implementation of impactful innovation management for one of the largest Swiss Cantonal Banks»

The customer reflected in this case study is one of the largest swiss cantonal banks. After the bank had decided to further strengthen their innovation power and increase their budgets for the respective investments, they asked if we could help design and implement tailor-made and impactful innovation management, as well as guiding the decision-making process and implementation phase.

The existing strengths, assets, and strategic positioning were the basis for evaluating where and how the bank could credibly position itself in the field of innovation and take advantage of opportunities and market momentum. We developed, challenged, and synthesized concepts and strategic directions with the person responsible for innovation in the management team and the bank's CEO.

This served as a basis for discussions in the management team (in the form of different workshops and slots in the management team meeting) and on the strategic level, including updates on the most critical decisions & strategic guidance for the overall project.

During the implementation phase, we supported our client in the following: helping recruit the respective employee profiles, establishing the innovation process, structure & organization, and governance; identifying the main topics/ areas of innovation; developing ideas in the form of ideation formats; developing these ideas further in the form of MVP, MLP or PoC, including with other companies/ partners that could help to innovate in the purest sense of "open innovation".

Our activities helped the bank undertake a deep change and transformation process that builds on its traditional strengths and is currently leading to new impact, offerings & services, which the bank has already started to launch. These have already enhanced the way the bank serves its customers.

CASE STUDY 4: «North star/vision for the customer interface for one of the largest Swiss Banks»

The customer depicted in this case study is one of Switzerland's largest banks. After undergoing significant changes in several top management positions, one of the new management team members asked us to help prepare a "100-day review" and a new strategic roadmap including north star, vision, and strategic pillars. Our collaboration aimed to set the basis for even more successful and impactful management of the future's customer interface.

The chosen approach included an analysis of the bank's overall strategy, market positioning, and values in the context of offerings and customer interface management. Based on these analyses, we discussed our first impressions with the decision-maker and possible approaches that could add value & derive some first fields of strategic focus and actions.

Next, together with the decision-maker and at a later stage with the whole leadership and core team, we developed a north star for the customer interface. This north star became the basis for the strategic pillars/ program and the respective strategic initiatives.

During our work together, we were also a trusted sparring partner of the top management decision-maker and analyzed the future customer interface in different iterations and several workshops. The bank could detect new customer needs, trends, and market opportunities that led to new hybrid or/and customer-made offerings & services. The bank also decided consecutive and consequent investments and changes for implementing a genuinely modern customer interface that reflects a changing financial service ecosystem.

 

In the year 2016, SanDono was founded by Roman H. Hola! I’m Natalia Schmid, creator, intuitive guide, and firm believer in the power of aligning our values with our lives. Grüezi! & Hola! My name is Ivan Büchi and I am a passionate, curious, and multi-interested intrapreneur, bridge builder, and innovation expert. My broad interest has been a driving force throughout my professional career. After starting my career as a bank employee, I became a software developer to help resolve the challenges I had faced while working in banking through new approaches and technology. Later, I became a systems engineer to solve the challenges that I faced as a software developer.

During these very insightful and interesting years in the financial service industry and IT, I started to develop a strong interest in strategic topics such as strategic product development and business modeling, and I was given the opportunity to successfully contribute to the digital strategy and online product building at Glarner Kantonalbank. A few years later, I had the great fortune to be able to apply my work and my experience for many banks at Swisscom. In addition to scanning startups and business development, this time was characterized by the strategic alignment of my products, innovation management, the exploration of new business models as well as promising cross-company innovation projects. I was able to leave my mark on complex digitization projects in the areas of customer interface, application security, and open finance, among others.

In all my roles and being a true intrapreneur, I always challenged and changed the status quo with creative and future-oriented ideas. In this, I relied on my interdisciplinary and industry-agnostic thinking, deep interest in strategic questions for the future of financial services, and my profound belief in a positive vision of a better future through technology.

Constant exchange and collaboration with founders and startups have enriched me greatly. With blog posts such as "Light into the darkness of the FinTech association jungle" and its sequels, I was able to structure the sometimes foggy situation and thus give something with added value back to the ecosystem. Over the years and in my different roles, I have been lucky enough to have incredible mentors at my side. They fostered and strengthened me to become even better and at the same time supported and encouraged me to grow to where I am today.
